So many people live as if what they are needing or expecting in the  next 2 seconds doesn’t arrive, they will simply blow up or worse. Ever run into one of those people in the car behind you revving their engine like they’re about to take off at the starting line – except you happen to be in front of them? They definitely are not experiencing peace.

How do you handle annoying situations like that? Calmly? Or do you get upset because of the other person’s hysteria?

How do you handle even more serious situations? adverse situations? dangerous situations?

Do you have the calm resolve it takes to think clearly and function appropriately and safely for yourself and your family in these different type situations?

I Welcome Peace

Bad things happen. The world is a dangerous place.  It’s a part of life to experience bad things but those same bad episodes do not have to rule your life or dictate your future.

You can have real lasting peace and joy in your life no matter what happens around you and it’s not as hard as you might think.

You can be so calm during a stormy moment that it literally makes people mad at you. Yes, mad at you enough to ask you, in probably not so pleasant terms at first, how you can be so at calm with “this” going on….  Well, that’s your clue to help them, too.

But first, let’s get you some tranquility in your life.

I Speak Uplifting Truth

I Speak - Rebecca Alderman

Instead of speaking your mind in order to relieve your own frustrations and unhealthy emotions to others; instead, you can speak to your mind with truth-filled nuggets that will uplift your countenance and encourage others – no matter what’s happening.

This is not to imply you would become some positive thinking mush speaker to a person whose just experienced a horrible tragedy. No.

But in those alone hours when you know you shouldn’t have that extra indulging dessert bowl.  Or on those low ebb days when all the thoughts running through your mind happen to be depressing you further.  Then it’s time to pull this affirmation out and repeat it over and over.

Next, grab the “truth” to replace the lie and get yourself uplifted and back on top of your day.  “I Speak” implies you must do just that.  Replace the unhealthy thought.  Literally hear yourself speak to your mind and say “No, that’s not the way it will be today. I will_______.”  Of course, fill in the blank with the obvious truth about yourself.

Time management can be a big trip-up for most of us.  Don’t feel bad.   Scheduling, arranging and balancing everything is a weekly chore right up there with laundry and vacuuming, grocery shopping and cooking.  Everyone has to do it.  Things can get out of sorts if we don’t sit down, take a deep breath and recoup at the end of the week. This will help the beginning of the week look more promising. This is YOU choosing “healing” consistently.

I Choose Healing

Yes, restoration takes time but if you don’t plan for it – being refreshed can take a back seat way too long and then you’re back to square one again.  

Invigorating strength comes regularly when you spend quality time with your Creator in an intimate relationship. He infuses His life into you with each new breath.  The more you get to know Him, the more you realize how much He loves you.  In fact, He doesn’t want you doing anymore than what He ordains for you to do in any given day to make sure you don’t hurt yourself.  Again, it takes time to know Him in this way and be free to enjoy what you’ve accomplished together that day.  This is healing and strength walking side by side. You and Him.

Taking the moment to recognize the resources at your beckon command will take you along way into the real results of simple but honest gratitude.

As you choose to accept these resources gratefully, then it’s time to ask yourself: “How will I use them.”

I Accept

Many moments of fulfilled joy have come into my life when I realized the wealth of resources around me and began to use them to help others.

  • I accept I may not always use them wisely
  • I declare I will use them wisely

Either way, I’ve begun the journey of  “acknowledging” and “being grateful” and that’s just the first step.

Now I am able to accept the responsibility of actually using them wisely.

How many times have we tried to say that over and over and still woke up the next morning with our same circumstances staring us in the face.

The key is realizing it’s not the repetition of saying mere words over and over in our mind that suddenly makes those words come alive and accomplish something inside us. It’s when we embrace, believe and craft the words to make them our own. That’s when the bubbling chuckle springs up from within because we immediately realize “change” has happened to us – before our circumstances changed.

Staying Calm Conquers Crippling Fear This Way

In many different stations in life you are encouraged to stay “calm”, be quiet, don’t move, relax, etc. Well, staying “calm” involves being quiet and still and certainly aids in relaxation but why and how?

That’s the key question of the hour.

When I sang publicly, hosts would always take me to their “green” room prior to entering the stage because a soft bluish, slightly yellowish, green was considered to be the “calming” color from ages past. And I knew first hand that when you’re calm, you perform much much better.  

Staying Calm Conquers Crippling Fear This Way

So how did I get calm? Certainly not by just entering the green room.  If that were the case, then every time I’d see that shade of green, I would suddenly turn calm.  No.  Not at all.

In fact, while the color itself does have calming qualities about it – less noise – as they say than other colors, I could still be a nervous wreck if I hadn’t practiced the music, the lyrics, the chordal pattern (I played keyboard while singing simultaneously), etc. If I didn’t know my stuff, a specially designed color room wasn’t going to suddenly make me calm and confident to enter that stage.

Listen carefully here. This is an important message.

No matter what you need to do in life, staying calm will always enhance your clarity and ability to function at a higher level but you have to do your homework first.

You have to be prepared to do whatever it is you need to do …..

A Vital Key 

Preparation is the key before the “calm” can happen for a test, a performance, an interview, a mission, etc.

Athlete Interview -Sabine LisickiEven moms have to prepare to have a baby.  A teacher prepares for a single day’s class. A speaker prepares before the next presentation. An individual prepares for that next interview.  An athlete prepares for the next big competition. A special operative prepares for the next big mission.

What is needed before the preparation?  A goal to accomplish, supplies to carry out the goal, and knowledge to use the supplies.

You see where I’m going with this, right?

It all starts with a goal, then supplies or tools or props, then comes the preparation and only then can you work on the “calm” state to cooperate with all your prep work to make for a successful outcome.

Wiggle Room

This is the KEY to thwarting the debilitating process of fear. Yet fear will try at every point to wiggle its way into the process to paralyze you from moving forward.  This is where your mental disposition comes in.

Fear will rob you each step of the way.  Sooner or later you have to say “NO” to fear and start your journey toward a goal you want more than anything else in the world.

At the end of the day, or the end of your preparation, you still have to conquer fear to reach the “calm” status but it gets easier when you’ve gone through the structured preparation process a few times.

The Best Thing To Do

So the best thing to do is to list all your fears and see just how many of them you can overcome by yourself. Put a Y for “Y-O-U” by those. Next to the fears you think you may need some help with or support through, put a H for “H-E-L-P” by those.

Sometimes it just helps to have a coach to help you stay on track and get you to the finish line to experience that pure, wonderful success.

Moist Brownie Snack As An Afternoon Energy Treat

Ingredients:

  • 1 15-ounce can low-sodium black beans
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 drops Peppermint Vitality essential oil

Moist Brownie Snack As An Afternoon Energy Treat

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F.  Rinse and drain the black beans. Then melt coconut oil on the stove until clear.
Next, blend all the other ingredients, except eggs, in the food Processer until smooth.

In a separate bowl, lightly whisk eggs until well beaten. Fold the eggs into the chocolate mixture.

Pour mixture into a greased 8×8 pan and bake 25–30 minutes.

For best results, let them cool 15 minutes before cutting into squares. Then,  let your delicious brownies cool another 15 minutes before serving.  ENJOY!
